Rhodia is focused on more sustainable coatings as it presents its portfolio of performance additives and solvents at the European Coating Show 2011. Rhodia’s products were created to meet formulators’ demands for specific solutions, allowing them to create the next-generation of eco-friendly coatings.
Rhodia is sharing its new eco-friendly evaluation approach to designing sustainable coatings by spotlighting its growing line of zero-VOC, APE-free performance additives and solvents for waterborne coating.
Rhodoline OTE is a novel zero-VOC, APE-free line of additives for extended open time in waterborne coating formulations. It provides a two- to four-fold increase in open time without the addition of solvents. Increasing open time gives painters more time to work overlays seamlessly or touch up paint to correct imperfections such as drips and brush marks.
Rhodoline WA range of wetting agents provides fast wetting properties and low foaming benefits. Rhodoline WA range completes the existing Antarox range, giving more formulation flexibility and better foam control.
Rhodiasolv Iris and Rhodiasolv STRIP are a new generation of safe and eco-friendly solvent solutions for various applications such as paint stripping, removal of graffiti, cleaning of resins and industrial degreasing. These non-VOC, biodegradable solvent solutions enable formulators to combine the required health, safety and environment profile without compromising performance.
“Our primary focus is on gaining an understanding of our customer’s varied sustainability objectives and introducing technology and products that enable incremental progress toward low environmental impact, high-performance and cost effective coatings,” said Simon Mawson, Rhodia global business director of the paint and coatings market. “With our solutions, formulators can satisfy consumer preferences for eco-friendly products and meet tightening regulations without compromising performance.”
