German pigment producer
Heubach GmbH has a 200-year history in pigment production with worldwide sales and technical support facilities, production and R&D units in Europe, Asia and the United States. Most recently the firm has established Hangzhou Heubach in China.
Participating in CHINACOAT since 1999 Heubach directly attributes its growth in China to its presence at this event for the last decade.
“At CHINACOAT2011 we engaged in beneficial discussions and found new opportunities in today’s challenging economic environment,” said Dr. Wolfgang Wald, Heubach’s sales director, Asia Pacific. “We were quite excited to see how our new products were accepted by qualified experts and decision makers in the coatings area from China.”
According to Wald, CHINACOAT is for Heubach and its agents a very important platform to get in contact with Chinese producers and penetrate into the China markets. “Heubach has built up its own trading company in Hangzhou in order to serve the demand better and in shorter time.”
In terms of future growth in today’s tough economic climate with the U.S. downturn, the mainland captive market will get more significant for China, according to Wald. “We see a growing demand for higher quality coatings in the domestic market and thus are optimistic for our high end pigments,” he said.
Wald sees CHINACOAT as the company’s most important marketing event for the Asia Pacific region. “It is the number one chance for us to increase customers´ awareness and appreciation of Heubach’s products,” he said. “We see strong development into more ecofriendly products including IR reflection paint. Waterborne coatings are also on the rise even during these difficult times.”
Heubach’s product portfolio includes solutions for paints and coatings and other building markets with a full spectrum of inorganic, organic and anticorrosive pigments and preparations.
“We have a cost effective anticorrosive pigment, which offers great benefits for the industrial coatings market,” Wald said. “Another new product is a IR-Black reflecting pigment with high IR-reflection and good color strength and is ideally suited for ‘cool’ coatings.”
At CHINACOAT2011 Heubach also featured Heucodur IR 945, a new IR reflecting black with high TSR value for IR reflecting coatings, and anticorrosive pigment ZP30, which is a new cost effective ac-pigment.
